I had to go to the doctor today

It was to my asthma doctor. She is really good and I love her. She is getting me a machine for my breathing. I took a nap in her office and then Mom dropped me off at Papa's for a while. BepBep came over for a minute and let me drive her car. Papa and I rode the lawn mower, the 4-wheeler and built a fire. I love it at their house. Mom had to go see my cousin Dylan who is in the hospital. He is feeling really bad so Mom said we'd pray for him tonight that his fever goes away. I hate it when Dylan is sick. Get well soon so we can play.!!

Mom, today was the best fun day...

Papa came to see me early this morning and brought me some Silly Putty. Then, we went to play with Laney at her house. Guess who else was there? Emma Kate and Baby Haven. On the way home I looked at Mom and said, "Mommy I love that baby more than all these houses in the whole wide world." Mom said, "I know Luke and you were so sweet with her- I hope one day you can be a big brother." It made Mom melt away. I did not want to give up the baby even to play with my friends. Thank you for sharing her with me Laney! Now I will have the pictures Mom took of me with her to look at. I enjoyed eating Pizza and being a Prince. We also played with some neat blocks and colored. My favorite toys are: kitchen, vacuum cleaner, apron. This was a great day!

I love my "four-legged" brother Mom!

I love Rudy and tonight he let me love all over him in Mommy's bed. Isn't this sweet? I even asked Mom to go get the camera so she could put this on my blog.

I said the cutest thing to Mommy

When I woke up this morning I asked Mommy to turn on my new Puppies DVD that Noni bought me. Mom said she would but before she could I said, "Well, it will cost you one fancy hug to turn it on for me." Mommy loved that and gave me the "fanciest hug" of all time. She didn't know what exactly a fancy hug was and I couldn't explain it to her.

It's Memorial Day...

Which means Daddy is off of work today. We put up our big blue blow-up pool last week so the water could warm up enough for us to swim by today. Daddy and I got in for awhile and I was fine but by the time Mommy got in I was starting to get cold. Mommy said it was because the sun was down a little and there was a breeze. Maybe it will be warmer soon. I took a good nap today and we went to Petsmart, Target, Home Depot, and Kroger. Mom grilled some good ribs that I didn't eat.

I had a fun day in Russellville....

Me and Mom went to Uncle Robert's house for a fish fry. I had a great time riding the Mule with Uncle Heathe (Uncle Heafer), Blake, and BepBep. I enjoyed seeing everyone and running around Uncle Robert's shop. When me and Mom left there I feel asleep so Mom stopped by Papa and Noni's so I could finish resting. When I woke up Papa took me riding. The goosie had a baby and it is so sweet. Mom took some pictures of them. I hope it stays forever at Papa's pond. I enjoyed riding the Massey Tractor and the Grizzly. Today was another fun filled exciting day. Tomorrow we have fun around the house. Only part of a room left to lay the floor in.... yeah. Mom and Daddy are thrilled. Thanks to PawPaw and Unlce Trav for helping Daddy.

We went to Hippiti Hoppiti......

This morning PawPaw and Daddy started working on the floors again. I was protesting in favor of keeping the nasty ole carpet. Mom has tried to tell me that it will be so nice but I ain't buyin it. Mommy surprised me and said that Dylan and Seth were coming to play. We went to Hippiti Hoppiti and then to Mom and Aunt Mandy's usual shopping spots Target, TJ Max and then to Home Depot. We also went to Burger King and played there. Mom is scared of germs and sometimes she sees kids that aren't as shinny as me she makes me use a ton of sanitizer then we have to leave. I fell asleep on the way home. Today was a good day. Nite Nite.

I got in some bad trouble with Mommy.....

Mommy was running my bath water and it was really late like 10:30 p.m. She went to my room to get my pj's and I decided it would be neat to get several slices of bread and drop them in the water. She was NOT happy when she saw what I'd done. I knew it was bad when she said really calmly, "Luke you know this is not what we do with bread". She had to drain the tub and start over. I said I was sorry in my sweetest voice but she didn't care- I was still in trouble.

A Carnival at School

Mom took me to a carnival at my school today. I got to see Chloe, Emma Kate, Laney, Skeet and Mrs. Stephanie. It was a lot of fun. There were 3 bounce castles and lots of games to play. I also got cupcakes, snow-cones and cotton candy(my favorite). We left a few minutes early because I had a "meltdown" and you know how embarassed my Mom gets when I have one of those.

My room has new floors.....

PawPaw put down a new floor in my room this week. I love it too. I also love that Mommy is using my room for storage till the guest room gets finished over the weekend. You know what that means? It means I get to sleep with Mommy. Today me and Mommy bought a new camera and she isn't smart enough to figure it out. But she did manage to take a picture of my room with all the junk. Wanta see? Papa came by to see me this morning but not for very long. He'd been at the hospital having his blood drawn here in Conway. He had to get back in the shop to finish a knife for his show next week in Atlanta. I'll be glad when that is over so that we can play.

Tonight Mommy played with me in the backyard while we made homeade strawberry ice cream. We also painted and played cowboys!

My last day of school

Well, me and Mom have offically made it. Today was my last day of school. I couldn't figure out why she was taking pictures of me. I am really going to miss my friends at Woodland Heights and my teachers too. This experience has been really good for me and Mom. Mom has made some "Mommy" friends and I've made some "kid" friends. Since September I've grown 1.5 inches and gained 2 lbs. That made Mom really proud. Mom said she wished she'd blogged this whole time. We were trying to remember some of the things that I'd said about school. Mom remembers very well the 3rd time that I went to school. She was putting her make-up on and I walked into the bathroom and announced, "I quit, I'm not going today." She said I was and had to talk very stern to me but once I got in my classroom "The Little Piglets" I was fine. Then there was the time that I said I was going to be a, "Preschool dropout and was too smart for school."

Well, we can't forget the time that Ms. Kecia had to talk to Mom on the 4th day of school because I was being naughty and had to go to time out(more than once). This is how the conversation went.
Mrs. Kecia: We had a few small problems today with Luke.
Mom: Oh, what happened?
Mrs. Kecia: Well, Luke hit someone, but he apologized. Then, on the playground, he wanted a "pee rock" to go pee pee on.
Mom: OMG I am so embarrased- my husband taught him that.
Mrs. Kecia: One more thing happened, he used a potty word when he dropped the broom.
Mom: OMG which one?
Mrs. Kecia: DAMN.
Mom: I am so sorry, we will talk with him. I'm so embarrased.
Mrs. Kecia: Says so sweet, "Don't punish him at home for something that happens at school, at their age it just isn't appropriate."This is really normal behavior.
This was the last time that Mrs. Kecia had to speak with Mommy about my behavior. I did NOT get in trouble at home but Mommy and Daddy did talk with me. Mommy almost cried but she didn't. Of course, there was orientation and meet the teacher day when Mommy cried. This has taught her so much! God Bless Woodland Heights Preschool!!

The things I say......

Mom told me we needed to go run some errands and on the way I asked, "Are we going in or can we just go through the driveway?" Then when we got to the "driveway" at Ed's Bakery a woman was walking through the parking lot talking on a cell phone. I asked Mom to roll the windows down and I yelled out at the woman, "Hey you need to get you a car so you don't have to walk". I have no idea why that embarrassed my Mom, do you? Thank you woman for NOT hearing that.

Goodbye Branson....

Well, we headed back to Arkansas today. I've already asked a bunch of times, "when are we going back to Branson"? I just loved our mini-vacation. It was so much fun. This morning we were packing up and I found some neat-o sticks and stacked them up for a fire. Mom let me bring two of them back for when Papa and I build our next fire. I was really good on the ride home. Rudy was pretty good too, but not quite as good as me. We stopped for a great breakfast at Shoney's then dropped off Noni and Papa. While we were at their house I rode my gator, Massey Tractor with Papa, and my Mom's old tricycle (it's over 30 years old). When I said my prayers tonight I was sure to thank God for my trip. I also asked him to watch over all the little babies in the world (especially baby Haven) and for another trip to "Branson". Good night.

Branson..Day 2

I woke up so happy this morning. I couldn't wait to go back to "Branson". First, we have to go do some shopping. I hate it when Mom says that. Daddy said we are going to look in a camping store though so maybe it won't be too bad. Next, we are going to eat lunch and then take a nap. If I'm good we can go back to Branson. I got woke up from my nap with a tummy ache. I "burped-up" and then felt much better, so let's go back to Branson!!!!

Vacation to Branson, Fun..Fun.. Fun

We left early this morning for Branson, stopping to pick up Papa and Noni in Morrilton. We even took our dog Rudy along. Mom told me that we are staying in a really neat place but I can't remember what it's called. I'm calling it a "cabinet", close enough. I watched my Trucks DVD most of the way. Papa was joking with me and said that he was going to, "Pull Noni's pants down and whoop her butt." Then I started saying it and everyone laughed especially Papa. I was saying all kinds of things that Mom didn't think were all that funny. Once, I said to Papa, "Do you smell all those poots in here". Rudy and I both were very well behaved on the ride. We went straight to our "cabinet" and I ran through it saying, "Mom look at this beautiful house with all these woods to hunt deers". I loved the big screened in porch and played out there with Daddy and Papa for awhile. We tended"(pretended) to hunt deer while Mom and Noni went to do some shopping. We took a good nap and when they got back we headed to "Branson"/Celebration City. I think Branson=Celebration City. I loved, loved, loved it and wasn't scared of any rides. In fact, I am sort of mad that they are saying I'm not tall enough for some of them. Daddy rode the big high airplance with me first. Mom rode by herself but got a little scared. Then the three of us headed for the water boat things that go up two hills and splash down really hard. We got so wet. Mom wasn't that found of it. I asked Papa to ride and he loved it. Then, Noni rode with me and Daddy, but one the way up the first hill she fell backwards and it scared everyone. But, we were laughing at her too. She didn't ride anymore after that- she didn't know you are supposed to hold on! We rode a bunch more stuff and Mom and Dad said we had to leave but they promised to bring me back. I had so much fun in Branson. It was great. When we got back to the cabinet I asked Mom if we could spend the night and she said we could. I was so tired I went to sleep and slept like an angel. I can't wait for tomorrow.

Mother's Day 2007

This year we got up really early and went to Morrilton. We went to Sacred Heart for Mass. I didn't want to go and announced it in church that I was Jesus from Heaven and I just wanted to go feed the catfish at Papa's. Mom told me to be quiet and quit pouting in church or there would be no riding or fishing. Sometimes she can be so mean. Can you believe she said that to me after the wonderful card I colored her and how I woke up yelling "Happy Mother's Day Mommy"? When we got back to Papa's daddy had to take me outside for an "attitude adjustment". Papa, Daddy, and me cooked steaks for Noni and Mom. I just couldn't understand why daddy wouldn't let me buy a plant for Papa. He told me that I could on Father's Day. I kept trying to give everyone else's gift plants to Papa. That was funny. After my nap we stopped by Bep-Beps for a few minutes so I could run around her stairs. I pronounce it "stair a's". Then it was off to Meme and PawPaw's to play with the boys. I teased Aunt Mandy a lot and wouldn't give her kisses!! That is our special game. The boys gave me their old skateboard and I love love love it! That was so nice of them. MeMe is going to buy me somemore Woo-hoo's. I was sad to leave but Daddy said we needed to get home to watch the Sopranos. But, we had to get Rudy at Noni's house and ride grizzly and color with chalk on the sidewalk. It sure was a fun day. Me and Mom snuggled up in bed when we got home and she read me a letter that she wrote me before she had to go back to work after maternity leave was over. She reads me this letter every Mother's Day. I'll put it on here for you to read too. She loves me so very much.

Dear Luke:
Today is the saddest day of my life. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I am so blessed to be chosen as your Mommy. Today my heart breaks because tomorrow I have to leave you while I go back to work. I fear that one day you will not understand why I have to do this. I fear that one day you will think that I'd rather work than play with you. I'd rather eat dead bugs than leave you- but right now I have no choice. JD's Mom, Summer, called me to tell me that she was praying for me and that it would be okay. I know that it will work out and we'll both get used to this. You deserve the best of care and that is something that only I will be able to give. Taterbug- I will be missing you every second that we are apart. I will be praying that God will give us an opportunity for me to stay at home with you when the time is right. You are my heart.
Love-
Mommy

Toad Suck Daze

This year I went to Toad Suck with Mommy and Daddy on Friday nite to watch my first rock star, Brett Michaels. I had a pretty good time. On the way there I asked if I could, "take off to sleep"? It was about my bedtime. But, once I rode the carousel, I just wanted to ride and eat.

I got to go back again on Saturday. This time it was really cool because Dylan, Seth, Aunt Mandy, and Uncle Travis went with us. I loved riding with my cousins. It was so much fun! We kept wanting to ride more and more but Mom and Aunt Mandy said we were going to Shorty Small's to eat. A good time was had by all.

There was a cowboy on this farm....

Luke came into the office with something to say on his blog and this was it. Not sure where it came from though. Daddy wanted him to share this photo of him fishing with Papa on Mother's Day.

Getting the hang of this blogging

Okay, it's time for Mom to come outside with me. She and I have been hard at work on this blog stuff. She had to summarize the last 3.5 years in about an hour. I'm really excited about this cause I love helping mom on her "pugger". I got in trouble for pecking on daddy's a few minutes ago so I just reminded mom that I'm her "angel from heaven"- it's works everytime. I was a little upset when mom told me that she'd been holding baby Haven while I was at school. I really want a baby sister like Laney! Yesterday, I invented one, her name is baby sister Necia!! I also have an imaginary friend Jeff that I play with- he eats my vegetables off my plate and sometimes he cleans my room! I'm really using my imagination these days. I can't believe it was 4yrs ago today that mom found out I was on the way.....

Fast forward to my fourth year...

In January my Big PawPaw went to heaven and I miss him a bunch. I kiss his picture every night and tell him I still love him. When Mommy cries I give her a hug. I just don't understand why he can't come back but mom says all that counts is that I loved him and he loved me. She says he is my very own angel and sometimes I see him (but Mama can't) he still makes me laugh even though he is in heaven. Do you think he still checks his email in heaven? I sure hope so maybe he is reading my blog....

I went for my 3 year well child visit and I weighed 27.5 lbs and was 36 inches tall! I am growing okay.....

In February I got really sick and couldn't get rid of an ear infection so I'm going to have to get tubes in my ears. I've been on all kinds of medicines and shots. It stinks. I still love my friends at school. I talk about Laney, Chloe, and Emma Kate all the time.

March- I'm still sick with my ears. I had fun with mom on Spring Break. I love it when my cousins Dylan and Seth come to play. I had fun the other day riding the GoCart at MeMe's house with the boys. Papa got a new John Deere lawnmower and I love it. I'm already driving it as good as I can the Massey Tractor. I still love Grizzly the 4wheeler too!

April 3rd, my surgery. I did not do too good with the medicine they gave me. I was someone else's taterbug. Mommy knows I will be better soon though. On April 9th I went back to school and had a huge huge temper tantrum and pulled mom's shirt halfway off of her. It took 4 of the teachers to separate me but mom did the right thing by making me stay. I stopped crying when she left but she cried forever. Miss Casey and Miss Nicole gave her hugs they felt so sorry for her. She said it was the worst day for her the whole school year.

I went to my first Traveler's Baseball game at the new field in April. Mom, Dad, Dylan, Seth, Aunt Mandy, and Uncle Trav when to. We had a good time. Dylan liked watching more than me and Seth. Thanks to MeMe for getting us the tickets.

My 3rd year

I went for my 2 yr old well child visit and they started talking to Mom about potting training. She says wait a minute we are already thru with that stuff and the nurse thought it was a joke. Until, I showed her my elmo underwear. Misty my APN was so proud of me. We are still using a pull-up at night. We were through with those diapers before my second birthday. Everyone kept telling Mom that I was too young but I wasn't by the 4th day I was accident free. I still get up at least once a night. I weighed in at a whopping 21.5 lbs and was 33 inches tall. Whew, I've got some growing to do.
Mom and Dad decided that I need to have other kids to play with. I have my cousins Dylan and Seth and I love playing with them but they are my only friends. Mom got me enrolled in Woodland Heights Preschool. Mom cried alot about leaving me with other people. I stay with Papa pretty good but even he thinks I need kids.

I went on my first trip overnight to Branson with mommy, daddy, meme, pawapw, dylan, seth, aunt mandy and uncle travis. We stayed at the waterpark and I loved loved loved it. I talk non-stop saying bad words every once in awhile that I heard from daddy- hehe.

We play outside alot because I love it. My favorite thing is Papa's grizzly 4-wheeler. I still love Rudy and he lets me pet him alot lately. He is on medication now though. I continue struggling with asthma but they hope I'll outgrow it. In July, when I was officially 2.5 Mom took my nighttime pull up away. We had one or two accidents.

I started preschool in September. Mom cried for a couple days and I cried for like 10 minutes. Mom was sad to leave me and missed me bunches. I missed her the first couple days then I decided school is way cool. My mom loves this little girl in my class named Laney-she thinks she is awesome! I like her too!. I did really good at my school Christmas pageant and Papa and Noni were so proud of me.

I still like firetrucks but my Uncle Heathe has gotten me into FedEx. I'm gonna be a FedEx pilot when I grow up. Me and daddy pretend to shoot deer all the time running through the house. I love playing in the bathtub too! I had a cool birthday party at my school with my friends. I'm watching a lot of Dora and Bob the Builder. I laid off of Barney some that's good. Mommy and Daddy took me to Barney live this year and I loved it. My eyes are green/brown and my hair is turning light brown. My family thinks I am so handsome. And, mom tells me every morning that I'm her angel from heaven!

My second year

I got my first haircut in Morrilton from my Mom's friend Gail. I was 13 months old. Everyone loved it - but I wasn't the happiest about it. Mom said I was her little man now! Totally changed the way I looked. I still have blondish hair and blue eyes. I weigh 18lbs and I'm 31 inches tall. I'm very tiny on that chart. I started walking on January 18, 2005 about 13 months.

In June when I was 1.5 I had surgery at Arkansas Children's Hospital to remove my hemangioma off of the right side of my abdomen. I did super good and the scar will fade. I did so much better than my mommy did.....

I didn't call my daddy daddy I called him (BOOBIE). Mom is glad I don't do that anymore. Also I got off of Goat's milk at 18 months yes! Mom was so happy. I outgrew my allergies to soy and all that involved- everyone was so proud of me. My Papa comes to see me during the week and we love to play. Mom runs her errands during this time. I love our dog Rudy and every once in a while he'll let me pet him- not very often though. I love my John Deere Tractor and my John Deere Buck! I watch Elmo sometimes.

I celebrated my second birthday with a huge firetruck party at my house. I moved out of the nursery and into the other bedroom on that side of the house. Everyone bought me firetruck stuff to go in it. I am sleeping in my firetruck bed now.

What I did my first year

My first year was pretty rough. I was allergic to almost everything. I about drove Mom and Dad insane or to an attorney - maybe both! My mommy went back to work when I was a little over 10 weeks old. But she hated it so later that year she stayed at home with me. Yeah- that made me so happy. We moved from Rupert drive to my present house when I was 8 months old. That's when mommy started staying at home with me. Daddy changed jobs during this time so that this would all be possible. Thanks Daddy!!!! I love you for that.

During my first year I was baptized at Sacred Heart in Morrilton. That is where my mommy was baptized and where mommy and daddy got married. I got 10 teeth my first year. I crawled but did not walk. As a matter of fact I was a day shy of 7 months before I could sit up. I celebrated my first birthday as well as my first X-Mas all on the same day. My mom looked over some of her journal entries and it looks like I could say: mama, dada, papa, nana, nan-u (thank you) bye bye, bep-bep (aunt becky), meme, pawpaw, dude (Rudy the dog), no, more, eat. I was pretty talkative everyone said. I gave up my bottle the day after my first birthday- I didn't mind at all though.
My growth stats:
Birth: 7lbs 11 oz 18 1/4 Inch Head 14.5
1 week 7 lbs 5 oz 18 1/4 Inch
1 month 9 lbs 9.5 oz 21 Inch Head 15 1/8
2month 11lbs 14.5 oz 22 Inch Head 16
4month 14lbs 10 oz 24 In Head 16 1/8
6 month 16lbs 16oz 26 Inch

How I got the name Taterbug

Some of you may not know that I've been called Taterbug since I was 2 weeks old!

It was in the middle of the night on the night before my daddy had to go back to work. Mom and I were in the nursery rocking and I was wide awake and swaddled in a bunch of blankies. Mom decided that I looked like a big ole tater and she'd already been calling me Bug. So, that's how I became taterbug. Daddy like the name but Noni didn't. However, now I tell Noni that I'm her and mommy's little taterbug. Somehow along the way Papa shortened my name to "little tater" so some still call me that too. I'm Papa's "peanut" by the way.
